Super High School Seniors!

It was another banner year for the 2021 APASWFL Scholarship even after we increased the minimum to a cumulative GPA 4.0. After diligent evaluations of our dedicated APASWFL Scholarship Committee, we qualified 11 outstanding Asian-American High School Seniors in Southwest Florida. Covid-19 CDC restrictions resulted in some High Schools to cancel in-person assemblies while others have creatively celebrated their Awards Night in their School Gymnasiums and outdoor fields.
On May 4, 2021 at the Estero High School Awards Night Assembly, we awarded Madeline Clark (Chinese). On May 17, 2021 at the Barron Collier High School Awards Night Assembly in Naples, we awarded Lucas Bradshaw (Filipino) and Erick Tran (Vietnamese). On May 18, 2021 at the Gulf Coast Town Center Courtyard in Lee County, we awarded the following students; Olivia Villaverde (Chinese/Gulf Coast High School), Anay Naik (Indian/Fort Myers High School) and Katelyn Vong (Vietnamese/Riverdale High School). On May 20, 2021 at the Cape Coral High School Awards Night Assembly, we awarded the following students; Julia Lin (Chinese), Nicole Chang (Chinese Filipino), Kieu Dao (Vietnamese) and Louise Lin (Chinese). On May 24, 2021 at the Palmetto Ridge High School in Collier County, we awarded Alexis Amoyo (Filipino).
On behalf of APASWFL Scholarship Committee, we would like to send a shout out of “THANK YOU” to all who attended, participated and supported the 2021 AsiaFest “Year of the Ox” Celebration on February 6, 2021. Our Special thanks to our 2021 Crowned Ms ASIAFEST Samantha Clements (Filipino), First Runner-up Cathy Le (Vietnamese) and Second Runner-up Lilly Van (Vietnamese). They are our ambassadress of Asian grace, knowledge and culture. All have greatly contributed to the APASWFL Scholarship Funds. Congratulations to all our APASWFL Scholarship Awardee! We would like to thank you, your family & friends who joined us, too.
